Let Us Help You Plan Your Wedding - Your Way

Apache Wedding Blessing - Marriage Prayer

Now you will feel no rain,
for each of you will be shelter for the other.

Now you will feel no cold,
for each of you will be warmth for the other.

W hat do you want to make your ceremony special? There are as many options as there are unique couples. When we meet we'll discuss what you have in mind for your special day, and I'll suggest some options for your ceremony and to help you plan, I will give you a very detailed template to help you think through every detail of your wedding day.

Below are just a few things for you to consider:

  • Would you like to have a Unity Candle?
  • Would you like to include some of the old Colorado customs?
Here are a few for you to consider:
    • Signing the license as part of the ceremony using some lovely old words.
    • Colorado territory promise from the guests to you. This one ends with “you may shoot your guns!” and goes back to 1858
    • Bowl of Blessings ceremony. This was first done by miners here in Gilpin County using gold nuggets (you can use polished stones)
  • Would you lika a wine ceremony? Why not drink from the same cup for the first time as husband and wife after your vows?
  • Traditional Latino customs (in English or Spanish) are options too like:
    • Lassos
    • Arras
    • Limpia
  • Presents (like flowers) to special guests and/or mothers.
  • Special song(s) Maybe "your" song
  • Readings from members of the wedding party.
  • Ceremonies to include any children such as: Special gifts, lockets, jewelry and so on
  • It's fun to meet in the Gilpin County courthouse and get a wedding license (good anywhere in Colorado).
  • Any traditions from your religious background or past that make
    your families feel comfortable.
